Matt MacDougall founded Rocket Web in 2010 with a simple thesis: eCommerce shouldn't be this hard. Sixteen years later, he's still proving it — now as Chief AI Officer, driving AI strategy across Adobe Commerce, MageOS, and Shopware projects. He built Xtension Galaxy to filter signal from noise in the Magento ecosystem, sits on the board at Circle City Relief, and somehow still finds time to make mixtapes. ENFP. 7w8. Questions welcome.
Background
With a broad base of technical knowledge and a bias toward action, Matt leads by example. He’s spent his career building commerce solutions that work — not just technically, but for the businesses and people behind them.
Matt also created Xtension Galaxy — a curated marketplace and multi-tenant Magento testbed built to help merchants and developers find extensions with integrity, and stop the spam.
Beyond Work
Matt serves on the board at Circle City Relief in Indianapolis, bringing AI strategy and a results-oriented approach to nonprofit work.
When he’s not thinking about commerce, you’ll find him making mixtapes, asking questions, and trusting his gut. University of Iowa grad. Based in Indianapolis, working remotely since before it was cool.
